Fourth Of July Festival Updates For Everett, Washington

We’ll update you again when we get closer but here are some updates to pass along about celebrating the 4th of July in Everett, Washington. This year the 4th is on a Tuesday so lots of folks will be enjoying a long weekend.

4th of July Parade

The Seattle Cossacks will be back in the 4th of July parade this year in downtown Everett, Washington.

While no longer sponsored by the City of Everett, the 4th of July Parade is coming along with more than five dozen entries so far including long time favorites the Seattle Cossacks Motorcycle Stunt and Drill Team.

The Lake City Western Vigilantes and Sidekicks are also expected to attend along with bands, community, service and military groups.

The Parade will start at 11:00 AM travelling south on Colby from Everett High School at 25th and then east on Wall Street and back north on Wetmore.

The volunteer committee is looking for a few more volunteers on the 4th of July to help with staffing barricades and staging/marshalling units.

There are trainings next week on Tuesday June 27th and Wednesday June 28th from 7pm-8pm at the VFW hall in downtown Everett. The address is 2711 Oakes Avenue 98201. 4th Of July Festival At Legion Memorial Park Starts at 3:00PM (145 Alverson Blvd)

Here’s everything you need to know:

First things first: There’s NO PARKING at Legion Memorial Park on the Fourth of July. Everett Transit provides free shuttle service to and from Legion Memorial Park. Uber, Lyft, and biking are other ways to get to the park to enjoy the celebrations.

Enjoy some tunes in the park – here’s the lineup for this year’s Fourth of July

Small Paul 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.

The Jaws of Brooklyn 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Eden 8:00 – 10 p.m.

Food trucks
Don’t fill up on hotdogs and potato salad before getting to the festival because you’re going to want to save room for food trucks. This year, we have over a dozen food truck options to satisfy your appetite.

Free Putt Putt and Axe-throwing
We’ve teamed up with PNW Axe and PNW Putt to offer visitors some extra fun in the sun while you hang out at the park. There will be two axe-throwing booths and a full 18-hole putt putt golf course. All play is free, so everyone can enjoy.

PNW AXE Throwing Company is hosting a 40 person single elimination tournament this 4th of July at Legion Park! This is for individuals and not teams. Please sign up below.

Only 40 people will be able to participate. You will be notified if you have been selected to play. You will also be notified if you were placed on the waiting list if there are any no shows. Please show up 15 minute before the tournament so we can start on time!

Legion Park in Everett – SW corner of the park in the parking stalls (You’ll see our trailers)

1st place winner will receive a PNW AXE hat and a $50 visa gift card
2nd place will receive a hat and a $25 visa gift card
*Must be 18 or older to participate. All participants are required to sign a release of liability waiver and wear close toed shoes. Crocs will be provided if you don’t have proper footwear.

Beer garden
Everett Music Initiative will host their annual beer garden with tasty local bevvies for anyone 21+. The beer garden is by the music stage so you can watch the music while you imbibe.

Fun for kids
Kids in tow? There’s fun for them, too. Imagine Children’s Museum will be at the festival with fun kid-friendly activities. Legion Memorial Park also has a great playground and ball fields. Have a lawn game the kids love? Bring it! Just don’t ruin anyone’s picnic with a stray frisbee, okay?

Fireworks
The city’s annual Thunder on the Bay fireworks show is the largest in Snohomish County. Enjoy a stunning 20-minute display over Port Gardner to cap off a memorable Independence Day. The show starts at around 10:30 and there’s no better place to watch than from Legion Park.

FAQs
Q: Is it free to attend?

A: Yes! The event is free to attend.

Q: Are dogs allowed?

A: Yes; they must be on a leash per Everett Park rules. If you’re taking your puppers on the shuttle, they need to wear a muzzle unless they’re a service animal. For those with pooches that are afraid of fireworks, the fireworks start at 10ish.

Q: Can I bring chairs or sun shades to the park?

A: Yes. Be courteous of those behind you so you don’t block their view of the fireworks.

Q: Can I bring my giant propane barbecue on the shuttle bus?

A: Um, no. Thanks for asking, though!

Q: Will there be drinking water?

A: Yes. We have a fountain for filling up water bottles.

Q: Is there shade at Legion Memorial Park?

A: Some. You should definitely bring sunscreen.
