June 13, 2023

Events in Everett

More than three dozen merchants, businesses, service providers and others in the neighborhood will be joining the vendors at the Everett Station District Wednesday Farmers Market tomorrow (June 13th) from 2 – 6 PM.

Everett Station District

This is at 32nd street between Smith and Paine Avenues in front of Everett Station.

Here’s what’s happening.

Held in conjunction with the Wednesday Farmers Market at Everett Station, community members at the Everett Station District Town Hall Day will learn from more than 45 agencies and organizations about what they are doing to make the neighborhood and community a better place.

Here are a few highlights of the agencies and organizations who will be in attendance:

  • Bezos Academy: Opened this Spring, the Bezos Academy provides early childhood education to 60 low income students within Everett Station.
  • Care-A-Van: Washington State Department of Health: Get free COVID-19 and flu booster shots, childhood vaccines, and blood pressure and glucose screening. Vaccinations require prior registration.
  • Compass Health: Learn about Compass Health’s Broadway Redevelopment project that will transform lives and the neighborhood.
  • Everett AquaSox: Get your 2023 game schedules for your local AA baseball team, and learn more about a new stadium that may be located in the neighborhood.
  • Everett Planning Department: Learn about how the City is supporting transit-oriented development and middle housing in its major update to the city comprehensive plan.
  • Everett Public Works: Learn about a new bicycle and pedestrian pathway from Everett Station to the Angel of the Winds Arena that will be constructed later this year, as well as other active connection projects.
  • Everett Railroad Heritage Museum: Explore the future home of a new railroad and transit museum coming to Everett Station.
  • Everett Transit: Hop aboard one of Everett Transit’s newest electric buses — the agency will be fully electric by 2028. The Federal Transit Administration awarded Everett Transit as one of four Climate Challenge Champions.
  • Sound Transit: Learn about the Everett Link Extension Project that will connect light rail from Lynnwood to the Everett Station District, with a target opening in 2037.
  • Pallet Shelter: Explore first-hand a model shelter built Everett’s do-good company that’s helping to address homelessness by building these low-cost, pre-fab shelters. In our neighborhood, the Everett Gospel Mission manages a 40-shelter village, and additional villages will be installed across Everett this summer.
  •
The Everett Station District Town Hall Day is part of a series of events hosted by Everett Station District Alliance at “The Yard at Everett Station” this summer. “The Yard” is a summer-long conversion of 32nd Street into a park, with FieldTurf, picnic tables, games, and other elements.

A farmers market will be on The Yard every Wednesday, 2-6 p.m., until August 16, and a food truck and live music will be on-hand every Friday, 12-1:30, until September 15.

Town Hall Day and The Yard are made possible thanks to an Everett Forward grant, Everett LTAC grant, and sponsorship by Kaiser Permanente.
