Everett Police Officer Wounded In Shooting, A Suspect Is Dead, SMART Investigation Closes Evergreen Way

One of the scenes is here at the Fred Meyer gas pumps.

  • Everett Police have confirmed that the officer who was shot this morning is in stable condition at Providence Regional Medical Center.
  • The Fred Meyer store on Evergreen Way is open but the only entrance and exit are at the north end on Casino Road.
  • Evergreen Way remains closed between Casino Road and Holly Drive and Holly Drive is closed between 3rd SE and Dorn.
  • Two scenes are being looked at by investigators. The Fred Meyer gas station south of the store where the officer was reportedly shot and the parking lot of the Car Hop dealership across the street on the East side of Evergreen Way where a man who was referred to as a suspect in the incident was located deceased.
  • No identities have been provided for any of the involved parties as of the time of this writing.

    The Snohomish County Multi Agency Response Team (SMART) has closed Evergreen Way in south Everett, Washington between Casino Road and Holly Drive as they conduct an investigation.

    Few details have been released at this early stage but SMART issued the following via Twitter this morning.

    SMART investigating an officer involved shooting in the 8800 block of Evergreen Way. An Everett PD Officer was shot and has been transported to the hospital. One suspect is deceased on scene. Active investigation. Evergreen Way remains closed.
