Andy Hansen opened Major League Pizza in downtown Everett in 2010 and doubled the size of his baseball-themed shop three years ago.

Baseball memorabilia covers the walls inside of the shop and Hansen plans to embed baseball cards into the table tops.

For the last twelve and a half years, Andy Hansen has been serving up some of the most popular pizza in Everett, Washington.

Prior to coming to Everett Hansen operated his shop in Smokey Point. “Things were going fine in Smokey Point but then the landlord there called and told me he planned to raise my rent,” Hansen told us on a recent visit. “By chance the next day the owner of our space in Everett contacted us out of the blue and made us a generous offer to open here in downtown.”

Hansen has roots in the restaurant business, owning and operating the Old #3 Tavern in Ronald, WA for six (6) years, from 1977 through 1983. In 1984 Andy moved to Western Washington and began working for Dominoes and learned all about the pizza business and when the time was right he opened…a sports card and collectible shop.

Yep, for a decade Andy dealt in sports cards and collectibles, finally opening Major League Pizza in 2005.

Yes, they really did offer a “Thanksgiving Dinner Pizza”

It’s a family business and Hansen makes sure they use fresh ingredients, hand toss the dough and put quality first. He’s also not afraid to try new and shall we say unusual things. In November 2014 we introduced you to their Pizza of the Month which was basically a Thanksgiving meal baked into a pizza with cranberry sauce, stuffing, turkey and mashed potatoes.

Hansen’s Major League Pizza is a big supporter of happenings in Everett. This weekend they’re a sponsor of Sorticulture, they’re involved with Cruzin’ to Colby and sponsor Aquasox Baseball, Silvertips Hockey and Everett Royals Football.

Like many of the business owners we’ve talked with in our “Meet the Owner” series the Pandemic has presented challenges both for his supply chain and staffing. Hansen has 20 employees. Delivery makes up about 70 percent of his business as Major League Pizza serves the 98201 and 98203 zip codes in Everett.

You can order online from their extensive menu which offers chicken, wings, meatballs and sandwiches in addition to their pizza.

The shop is located at 2811 Colby Avenue in the heart of downtown Everett. You can dine in or pick up an order to go as well. The phone number is (425) 259-5554 and they are open Sunday – Thursday from 10:30 AM – 9 PM, Friday and Saturday from 10:30 AM – 10:00 PM.
