Woman Injured Walking On Train Tracks South Of Lowell

The train backed up with the woman aboard to Everett Police and Fire crews at the Lowell Crossing.

The woman was taken by Aid Unit to Providence Regional Medical Center.

A woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a passenger train while she was on the tracks Wednesday afternoon.

A southbound train contacted the woman about 1000 yards south of the Lowell-Snohomish River Road crossing. The train stopped and crew members located the woman who was reportedly standing on the tracks.

She was taken onto the train suffering from obvious injuries. The conductor then backed the train down the tracks to the crossing where it was met met by Everett Firefighters and medics.

The woman was transported by Medic Unit to Providence Regional Medical Center. The crossing was blocked for about 30 minutes.

Everett Police and Burlington Northern officials were investigating the incident at the time of this writing.
