This in from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon.
A 19-year-old Des Moines man and a 19-year-old Seattle man have been arrested for two counts of first-degree robbery with a firearm. Detectives believe the two suspects were involved in the February 6 and the February 15 robberies at Marijuana Club 99.During both robberies, the suspects entered the store wearing hoodies and masks and demanded money from the cashier. The suspects also filled black trash bags with display items in the shop before fleeing from the scenes.
Probable cause was developed after an extensive investigation by Major Crimes Unit detectives, including evidence gathered from surveillance footage, social media accounts, cell phones, DNA left at the scene, and search warrants to various cellular, social media and technology companies.
In the analysis of the evidence, detectives believe the two suspects are also involved in the September 17 Marijuana Club 99 robbery, the September 25 High Society Marijuana Shop robbery in Everett, as well as several additional robberies that have occurred in Snohomish County.
On Monday around 3 p.m., the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force took both suspects into custody near a residence in Seattle. The 19-year-old Seattle man fled from deputies on foot but was captured shortly after. Both suspects were transported and booked into Snohomish County Jail for two counts of first-degree robbery.
Bail was set today at the Snohomish County Superior Court criminal hearing for both suspects:
• $500K for the 19-year-old Des Moines man
• $250K for the 19-year-old Seattle man
This is an ongoing investigation in collaboration with Everett PD, Seattle PD, Bremerton PD, Valley SWAT, the Violent Offender Task Force and the U.S. Marshal’s Office. Detectives anticipate additional charges for both suspects.
