Everett

A heads-up from the Washington State Department of Transportation on closures of westbound 526 from northbound Interstate 5 starting next week.

526 Detour

The ramp from northbound I-5 to westbound SR 526 will close nightly starting Monday, Sept. 14.

Westbound travelers taking State Route 526 from Interstate 5 need to plan for overnight detours for several weeks beginning Monday, Sept. 14.

Through the start of October, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the ramp from northbound I-5 to westbound SR 526 nightly:

The signed detour will be in place during the closures. Closures will begin at 8 p.m. every night. The westbound SR 526 on-ramp will reopen at 4 a.m. daily, except Sunday mornings, when it will reopen by 9 a.m. Work is expected to last into early October

To reach westbound SR 526 or the Mukilteo ferry terminal during the overnight ramp closure,

  • Take the exit 189, Everett Mall Way/SR 527.
  • Turn left onto SR 527.
  • At the intersection with Everett Mall Way, continue straight onto westbound SR 526.

DOT says the closures are necessary for expansion joint repairs on the ramp.
