At their meeting on Wednesday night the City Council in Everett, Washington is set to select a name for the park being built on the south side of the YMCA at 4730 Colby Avenue.

According to the council agenda there are three names under consideration. Arthur Grossman Memorial Park, Emma Yule Park or Glacier View Neighborhood Park.

The process has been a long time coming and not without controversy with the city council at one point pulling the naming issue off the agenda for a bit of a cooling off period.

Now that the Y is open the council will move forward Wednesday on one of the three names in the record. You can expect a fair amount of public comment before the vote is taken.

The city council meeting begins at 6:30 PM in the council chambers at 3002 Wetmore in downtown Everett. You can also watch the meeting on the city’s website or cable TV channels.
