Census Hiring Event Saturday In Everett

censusThe U.S. Census Bureau will have representatives on hand to answer questions and help people apply for jobs Saturday at the Everett Area Census Office on Everett Mall Way.

Jobs include both supervisory and non-supervisory field positions.

They’re calling it Seattle’s Best Side Gig citing the pay and also mileage reimbursement for using your own car.

“We offer field reps $20.00 an hour and 58 cents a mile to work helping get an accurate count of people throughout Snohomish County,” said Everett Area Census Office Manager Chares Souder. “You can keep your current job and make this a side gig for 8 weeks or pick up extra cash to pay for school or Holiday bills.”

The Everett Office is also hiring for two management positions. Both pay $28.00 an hour.

The individual selected for this position will:
Directly supervise approximately 10-15 Census Field Supervisors, and approximately 3-5 office support clerks.
Provide group and individual training; monitor daily assignments; and provide advice and guidance to subordinate staff.
Maintain effective public relations with the community within the office boundaries, such as the local news media, community leaders and organizations, and local government officials.
Establish an effective working relationship with traditionally hard to enumerate populations or with specific populations indigenous to the area within the office boundaries, which incumbent is responsible for, including those with unique cultural community, religious, or other characteristic.
Assure specific levels of quality and progress of field operations are being met through analysis of various computer generated reports and observation.
Review and analyze cost, quality, and progress reports to assure operations are conducted within prescribed time/allocations and quality and cost efficient standards.

The individual selected for this position will:
Supervise and manage a decentralized workforce in various geographic locations across Evertt, WA.
Lead a team to ensure staffing needs are met and locally represented for all geographic locations.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with local news media, community leaders, organizations, and local government officials to promote community cooperation and generate support for recruitment efforts.
Maintain relationships with organizations that refer applicants and other employment sources.
Recruit, train, and supervise recruiting assistants, office operations supervisors and office clerks.
Develop and implement a recruiting campaign, monitor recruitment results to ensure large volumes of applicants apply within a specific geographic location.
