Burglars Again Target Everett Retail Pot Shop

Burglars damaged the wooden door and frame early Saturday morning.
We told you a couple years ago of late night burglaries at Everett area retail pot shops including
Purple Haze in the 4200 block of Rucker just south of Safeway. After those burglaries the store replaced its glass front door with a wooden door but that didn’t stop burglars early this morning.
Shortly before 4 AM Everett Police responded to a burglary in progress call at the store and found that wooden front door forced open. Officers surrounded the store and a K-9 unit was called in but the burglars apparently made a successful get-away.
No word on what was taken this time but workers were at the store fixing the front door late this afternoon.
The Everett City Council Public Safety Committee is studying retail marijuana stores in Everett after a city council member’s request to double the number of stores within the Everett City limits.
