To promote fire safety the Everett Fire Department has teamed up with a local Dominos Pizza store. Here’s the word from Everett Fire.

Everett Fire Department is partnering with Everett Domino’s, located at 7601 Evergreen Way, and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to promote fire safety. On Oct. 10 from 4-7 p.m., anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives aboard a fire engine. If the smoke alarms in the home are working, the pizza is free. If the smoke alarms are not working, Everett firefighters will install fully-functioning alarms or replace the batteries.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign theme is “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!

“In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds,” said Kurtis Brown, fire marshal at Everett Fire Department. “Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out. These steps can make all of the difference and we hope to raise awareness about them through our partnership with Domino’s.”

“Fire safety is extremely important,” said Pat Farmer, franchise owner of Domino’s in Everett. “We’re excited to partner with the NFPA and Everett Fire Department for a program that not only promotes the safety of our friends and neighbors but rewards those who make fire safety a priority.”

Customers, who live within the city limits of Everett can contact the Everett Domino’s by calling 425-347-2202 to place their order and be eligible for the fire engine delivery.

This past Sunday, the Everett Fire Department hosted an open house at Fire Station 5 to celebrate the first day of National Fire Prevention Week. Domino’s Everett teamed up with the department and donated 60 pizzas for this great community event.
