More Arrests Made In Sunday Morning Shooting That Left 1 Dead

Editor’s Update 7:35 PM: A 4th person has been arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail tonight (Tue) in connection with the case. The suspected shooter remains at large.

Editor’s Update 5:45 PM Tuesday: Everett Police this afternoon announced two more arrests in this case and say they are still looking for the actual shooter. Here is their press release.

Everett Police on Tuesday arrested two more individuals in connection with the Feb. 17 homicide at 85th and Evergreen, including the man who was with the suspected shooter. Officers also arrested an adult male who is suspected of arranging the meet-up that led to the shooting.

In addition to the two men arrested today, police on Sunday arrested the woman who was with the victim at the time of the shooting, after detectives found a gun in her purse. The woman told officers that she had removed the gun from the victim prior to officers arriving on scene. The woman was arrested and booked into jail for tampering with evidence.

The homicide is still an active investigation and Everett Police will share more information as it becomes available. -end of news release-

And the Snohomish County Medical Examiner has issued the following: The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 19-year old male who was found deceased at the 8500 block of Evergreen Way in Everett, WA on February 17, 2019. The decedent is Raul Cuadros. The cause of death is gunshot wound to the chest. The manner of death is Homicide.

Everett Police arrived shortly after the first phone call to 911

Last night Everett Police booked a man into jail on suspicion of first degree murder in a shooting early Sunday morning in front of the Jack in the Box restaurant at the Fred Meyer Parking lot on Evergreen Way.

According to probable cause papers filed with the arrest the 27-year-old arrested had been with the shooter. They had reportedly been contacted by the victim and a female friend regarding a drug transaction. The probable cause papers say that both parties to the transaction intended to rob each other. During the encounter the victim was shot.

The suspect is expected to make an initial court appearance in Everett later this afternoon. We’ll provide more details as they become available.
