An early morning water main break has affected some homes in the north end of Everett. Here’s more from the city.

The area affected this morning.

Public Works crews this morning are repairing a water main line on the 1600 block of Grand Avenue, after a break left at 9 homes without water service. The 1949, 6-inch cast iron water main broke around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning causing water and debris over the roadway near Grand Avenue Park. The roadway will remain closed until the debris is cleared. Landscaping damage along Grand was reported; but there was no damage to the park or to the Grand Avenue Park Bridge project.

The line is expected to be repaired and restored by late morning. Once water is restored, people are encouraged to run their water until clear and air is released from the line. Though water may appear discolored, it is safe to use and drink.
