Sgt. Ken Dorn is retiring from the Everett Police Department after 33 years.

For the last nine years Sergeant Ken Dorn has worked in the Traffic Safety Unit with the Everett Police Department. During the previous 24 years Dorn worked in patrol, investigations and a variety of specialty units at Everett PD but today is his last shift as he moves into retirement.

MyEverettNews.com has encountered Sgt. Dorn on numerous occasions over the past 8 years as he led his team in various complex investigations involving some very heart-breaking scenes. In all of our interactions Sgt. Dorn has been polite, professional and caring to those involved including victims, family members and others during some very chaotic circumstances.

A few weeks ago we were able to ask Sergeant Dorn what he might like to do in retirement. “I think I’d like to spend a few hours a day working in the lunchroom at a local school,” said Dorn. “Just hanging out with the kids for a bit and then heading home.” Happy retirement Sgt. Dorn, you’ve earned it. Here are a few MyEverettNews.com photos of Sergeant Dorn over the past few years.
