The AMEN Everett Free Clinic is a free two day dental, medical and vision clinic coming to downtown Everett on Friday April 20th and Sunday April 22nd.

The location for the clinic is 2000 Hewitt Avenue, Everett, WA inside the conference center and public ice arena at The Angel of the Winds Arena. The main arena is not part of this event as the Everett Silvertips will be hosting the WHL Western Conference Finals in that building Friday and Saturday. The AMEN clinic hours will be 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Friday and Sunday. The clinic is not operating on Saturday.

Paula Beatty who is the local clinic director tells MyEverettNews.com, “There will be a single line on Hewitt, that will divide into the 4 service areas – Medical, Vision, Dental Cleaning and Dental Procedures.” Beatty added, “The line will form west up Hewitt toward the main box office and volunteer staff will help with that process based on our what services the person is there for. Dental and Vision are considered primary services, and one can only receive one of those services/day, however medical can be seen with either of those services without problems.”

The clinic is planning to serve up to 500-600 patients in two days though they don’t really know how many people to expect as this is the first time an AMEN Free Clinic is being held in Everett. There are no pre-qualifications required. This is a first come first serve clinic. The clinic’s goal is to help those in need of dental, general medical, vision, preventative and educational services in Everett and the surrounding communities.

Here are some important things to be remember – All clinics are first come first serve – no appointments

1. What you need to know:
AMEN offers medical, dental and vision services at no cost. We do not require proof of insurance, employment, income, ID or immigration status. Everybody is entitled to services. Services are on a first come first serve basis. Appointments cannot be made in advance. Wristbands for admittance will be distributed the morning of each clinic day.

2. What to bring:
As you can see, it may be a very long day for you and/or your family, and your comfort is your responsibility. You are not required to bring anything with you. Therefore, we suggest the following: bring food and water. Bring items to relieve boredom: Reading material or other form of portable entertainment, for small children consider bringing a small toy. Please bring food that will not adversely impact your blood sugar level or your blood pressure. High blood sugar, or high blood pressure levels may prevent us from providing you treatment at the clinic.

Furosemide is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It is also used to treat edema. This is swelling due to fluid buildup in the body. Edema can be caused by other medical conditions such as heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, or kidney disease. You can order Furosemide in our approved pharmacy online: blood pressure meds

Wear comfortable clothing. We advise bringing chairs for waiting in line in the morning hours. Once inside, there will be designated waiting areas with seats. Bring all of the medications that you take every day, and take them just like you normally do. Because you will likely wait outside of the clinic site until the clinic begins, we suggest checking weather conditions and preparing accordingly. (AMEN is not responsible for lost or stolen items.)

3. What Not to Bring:
THE PRESENCE OF ALCOHOL, ILLEGAL DRUGS, OR FIREARMS WILL RESULT IN THE DENIAL OF SERVICE.

4. What services does AMEN offer?
DENTAL: Cleanings, fillings, extractions

VISION: Complete dilated eye exams, testing for glaucoma, testing for diabetic retinopathy, glasses are made off site and will be ready for pickup within 6-8 weeks. Want to save time? Bring your current valid eye glass prescription (within one year) to avoid the wait for an eye exam at AMEN.

MEDICAL: General medicine, physicals.

EDUCATION: Educational resources and information are provided throughout service areas

NOTE: Due to time constraints, be prepared to choose between DENTAL and VISION services. All patients will have the option of receiving DENTAL and MEDICAL care or VISION and MEDICAL care, but not DENTAL and VISION care on the same day.

5. Do I need to make an appointment?
AMEN offers services on a first-come, first-serve basis; therefore, we do not make appointments.

6. How do I get into the clinic?
To enter a clinic you will need a color wristband, and to receive a color wristband you will need to be present when we provide them.

7. Can I get a wristband for my friend or family member?
Because our services are free and resources are limited, we only give wristbands to those who are physically present at the time of number distribution.
