Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing On Everett Beach
The pilot kept the chopper clear of the railroad tracks.
The pilot walks away after moving the copter off the beach to a safer spot.
The helicopter was to be put on a trailer and towed to Seattle for repairs.
A small helicopter with two people on board had to make an emergency landing on the beach in front of Harborview Park Sunday afternoon. The pilot radioed the control tower at Paine Field and advised he had to make a soft landing on the beach about three miles north of the field.
The pilot told MyEverettNews.com he had a drive train issue and first landed on the beach on the water side of the tracks. He had his passenger get out and was able to fly the copter over to the land side of the tracks but didn’t believe he could make Paine Field.
Both people were okay and the pilot was calling for a truck and flatbed out of Seattle to tow the helicopter off the Burlington Northern property.
