Porch Fire Extends To Attic Of Everett Home

Flames break out of a roof vent

Firefighters cut a hole in the roof.

The roof is opened to vent the attic space.
An early morning porch fire extended into an attic and left an Everett family seeking shelter today.
Everett fire crews were called to a house in the 4800 block of Elm street around 4:00 AM.
Flames were coming from the front porch as firefighters arrived.
The people inside the house were all able to get out but the flames managed to climb into the attic and fire broke through one of the roof vents.
The Red Cross was called in to provide shelter for the family.
An investigator with Everett Fire is working to determine what started the fire.
Thankfully there were no injuries.
