Naval Station Everett will conduct a security exercise on Wednesday, October 19. Navy personnel and others who regularly access the base should expect gate closures and possible traffic delays between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Emergency response personnel will focus on training for a simulated attack involving an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). During the exercise, nearby residents may see activated emergency vehicles driving on base.

This field training exercise is designed for Navy and local emergency personnel to improve readiness prior to a real emergency or disaster. It will also provide an opportunity for the Navy to practice mutual aid agreements with local law enforcement from the City of Everett Police Department.

Naval Station Everett is committed to working with local community authorities for response and recovery operations in times of crisis. Regularly scheduled training exercises help ensure Navy security forces maintain a high level of readiness and are capable of responding to changing and dynamic threats.
