A closer look at some of the items found.

A man and woman found out the hard way that hanging out in a stolen car behind an open business isn’t the best move if you want to stay out of jail.

An Everett officer discovered the couple in a stolen Honda around 10:30 this morning in the 6300 block of Evergreen Way.

The officer called for backup and held them with a taser until backup arrived.

The two were taken into custody with the man booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and drug charges while the woman was booked for suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle.

Everett Police were able to locate the owner who came and identified a bunch of property that that was found in the car that didn’t belong to him.

Detectives are expected to follow up to see if the couple may have been committing other crimes while they had the stolen car.

washington doesnt have grand theft auto as a felony charge, or charge at all for that matter, the WA and its counties use either Taking a motor vehicle without permission, or Posession of a stolen vehicle, both in what ever degree falls on to that certain situation ie. 1st, 2nd, 3rd probably not 4th at all. Oh and good thing the camera man was there or who knows, the cops might have shot both of these maniacal meth-heads in the back. Then again, they are white. CHARLIE SHEEN FOR PRESIDENT!!!! 2021! LETS GET AMERICA WINNING AGAIN!!!!

So, these aren’t felons. They are gross misdemeanors. Get your info straight. You moan and groan the most about tax dollar spending. What would you do in this instance? Keep them locked up for a year? Cost the city $80k per person? I’d really enjoy some REAL solutions from you rather than your usual tangent. Oh yeah, and Trump is gonna bring “LAWRRR AND ORDA”

    • Wa-fix Says:

Don’t comment unless you know what you are saying. Possession of a Stolen Vehicle is a class B felony punishable by a maximum of 10 years in jail and a $20,000 fine. RCW of Washington State. Fool.

      • Lanette Says:

I believe people are commenting on the cost of arresting vandalism detaining up to a year for a nonviolent crime such as this,is way more of a cost and nuisance this really costs the town common it of Everett financially and socially. And I’m assuming that the simplistic deduction of what you are complaining about was stating the more realistic veiw/angle of of our reality as a whole community in Everett. Instead of being so concerned with being right on laws and regulations, ect that maybe you might be open and willing to comprehend what’s really going on. Let’s quit being focused on being right and come up with solutions together.

    • Mike N Says:

Locking them up for a year is preferable to the loss of $$ and damage they could do if they were out running around during that year. I suppose if it had been your stuff they stole, you’d be happy to see them back on the street in a few days?
“Hi-de-ho, neighborino! What else ya got that we can steal?”

  5. NH Says:

6300 Evergreen Way… Let me guess, they were found behind the Kush Mart.

    • Mike N Says:

Ah, you beat me to it.

    • alw Says:

because weed heads steal cars… there is a nice little small store that sells knives, 40’s and crack pipes that COULD NOT have been the business they were at..
that area is awful before the kush mart was there and there is no parking behind the building…

  6. Bourne Says:

Low bail, community service, drug program, and they’re out on the street again in short order to commit more felonies. The door of justice keeps on spinning in WA state.

      • Bourne Says:

Grand theft auto is typically charged as a felony. Better brush up on your WA penal code. Better yet, just go away.

      • Wa-fix Says:

Typical Hillary/Bernie supporter speaking and supporting crime and not facts.

      • Eleanore Says:

I support Hillary and I most certainly respect Police officers and hate the perps the tweekers on their bmx bicycles buzzing around town down with crime

    • Bourne Says:

      Hola Eleanore!

Better send Hillary the largest bottle of Geritol you can find.

      Have a wonderful day.
