  1. Bourne Says:

Comrade Ray and his Apparatchiks on the city council should take notice of the massive turnout in support of Trump– so they won’t be so surprised when they’re voted out.

  2. Steve Says:

Good for him for standing up to that POS who ha s absolutely no right be hold an office in any part of any government office, ever!!

  3. davidH Says:

The mayor of Everett is doing what all leftists in America do. We have had 20 years of obamas, clintons and bushes. Now our liberty is seriously degraded, our allies don’t trust us and we’ll be 20 trillion in debt. It was refreshing to see blacks, hispanics, Asians and whites. It was also refreshing to see young people discovering our Constitution. Those who back Mr Trump are tired of establishment politics and all of its corruption.

  4. Bourne Says:

Please God let it rain cats and dogs on the protestors. It will be the first shower they’ve had in days. Thank you God.

  5. Denise Says:

I am confused with all the talk of Haters – it looks like the Haters are the people showing up to protest. I don’t see the other side being so hateful when their candidate makes an appearance. When did we go from freedom to express opinion to “Our opinions are the only ones that matter”

  6. Bourne Says:

    A complete set of Moonbats.

    • Eleanore Says:

I know it!! THose Trump supporters are so stupid to think a pompass ass hot head like Trump could EVER be presidential is beyond me he would start WWIII

      • John Saxtorph Says:

Ray looks like Donald Trump’s younger brother, who was abandoned, LOL!
        What a joke!!!
No wonder that Everett becomes a sihtohle!

  7. Concerned Citizen Says:

I am no fan of Donald Trump, but for the mayor to get involved with this protest seems a little beneath the office he represents. What exactly is he protesting? I don’t agree with Trump on most things, but I 100% support Trump’s right to free speech and for his supporters to be able to assemble. Just because you disagree with someone doesn’t mean you need to protest them. This seems really petty. The left used to support free speech and diversity of opinions; now they just want to shut everyone who doesn’t agree with them up.

    • GeoffTheGodofBiscuits Says:

Protesting is ADDING MORE FREE SPEECH, not taking it away. Nobody is stopping Trump and his supporters from voicing their opinions, protesters are ADDING their opinion.

      • Todd Says:

Protesting what? Trump and his followers right to assemble peacefully? He is renting an auditorium on his own dime. It’s private. The mayor is a piece of shit, along with all the other hateful thugs.

IF they want to hold a “rally” of some kind, let them get a permit and go right ahead. If they want to spend their money on an auditorium for a few dozen people to show up, go right ahead. But to harass Trump and his supporters is completely “asking for it”. People are not going to stand for harassment much longer. You can expect self defense to begin soon, I imagine.

      • GeoffTheGodofBiscuits Says:

Don’t be so dense, you know they weren’t protesting Trump’s right to have a rally, they were protesting Trump becoming president. They were showing their lack of support to counter the support of Trump’s fans.

    • John Saxtorph Says:

Ray looks like Donald Trump’s younger brother, who just got less lucky, LOL!
      What a joke!!!

  8. twincedars Says:

I was perturbed when I first saw that the mayor would be leading the protest, but what should we expect? Seattle is now run by Marxists so I guess were starting to oing down that path.

  9. Anon Says:

“They will also highlight how Trump’s hateful rhetoric is inconsistent with Washington State’s values and how we cannot afford to have hate in the White House.”

They’ve been watching too much CNN. If the left is good at one thing, it’s convincing people that the other side is hateful and racist. Hopefully layaway Ray will help deter any riots from these “peaceful and tolerant” leftists who often want nothing more than to squash people’s right to freedom of assembly.

    • GeoffTheGodofBiscuits Says:

Protesting is exercising freedom of assembly, protesting is NOT squashing others’ right to assemble.

      Everyone is assembling! Rejoice, patriot!

    • Judy Says:

You have apparently never actually listened to Trump. He is not due an ounce of consideration.

      • Anon Says:

Who’s the presidential candidate who actually came to our town when they didn’t need to?

HE’S taking you and your city into consideration, because he wants to better towns and cities like ours.

Think Billary likes our town? It’s a working class blue collar town, it’s not her thing. We don’t have tech start ups or billionaires lining the shoreline.

In this election I will be voting for the one who cares about us. Trump. He cares to address our state, our town and our economic issues.
You can’t deny Everett needs an economic facelift. Do you really think Billary will care about us? Nah

  10. Melissa Springer Says:

I am so proud of our mayor and all the other politicians. Thank you for standing up to this hateful man! I’ll be there to walk along side of you!

  11. Anon Says:

Just because you’re a Republican doesn’t make you a racist. Nice job branding many of your citizens as such. Everett doesn’t need it’s mayor to play brain surgeon. We’re all adults here, how come you can’t respect ones opinions and right to vote and leave people alone? Everett doesn’t need it’s mayor dancing in the streets alienating people, and making your citizens even more frustrated.

Unite by doing your voted in duties. Not parading in the streets of my neighborhood.
I will gladly parade in front of your house in protest to many of your failed mayoral decisions. Like your homeless problem. Or the fact that the economy grows around Everett and not in Everett. Or your failed attempts at keeping drugs off the streets. Or the bad business plans to bring in foreign investors, only to leave a project partially through construction. Or the large amount of sex trafficking that happens around this region.

Donald trump should be welcomed anywhere he goes, with the same respect some people oddly give to Hillary.

  12. Linda Says:

Looks like only the mayor is from Everett? This event is way oversold so lots of people on both sides will be standing in the streets. Hope it all goes down safely.

  13. Wa-fix Says:

Vote this mayor out, what a total fraud and political hack. He has no value to this city except political correctness that is making Everett even more of a dump hole. This city has so much potential, losers like Ray Stephanson will soon have no job.

  14. Anon Says:

That’s just like his opinion, man.

And a dumb one at that.

  15. Sue Says:

I agree. Usually, politicians stay out of this type of stuff and allow people they may disagree with, alone. They might say in the paper they do not agree, but to march?

What would people say if Republican politicians marched against Hillary Clinton? And what about the hate being reverberated out by the left? Do they not understand that it goes both ways?

  16. Diogenes Says:

Jerk! I don’t care whether they support Trump or not, but as Mayor he represents ALL the people of Everett and I’m pretty sure some of them do support Trump. The Mayor needs to stay impartial publicly.

    • Liam Says:

Politicians endorse candidates that they feel will serve the best interest of their electorate in every election. State, Federal and local. Every election cycle. Obviously the mayor of Everett feels that the Republican candidate for president has nothing of substance to offer the citizens of Everett. Making his views known in this matter is called leadership. Would that more mayors nationwide had the political guts to stand up to this figurehead of the Alt Right.

    • Procrustes Says:

Impartially is reserved for ordinary political matters, Trump represents a threat to the integrity of the nation with his unhinged rhetoric and White Nationalist followers.

People often ask the rhetorical question what would you have done to stop Hitler, well we have the modern-day version and I would hope my leaders would at least standup and say “no” to him.

      • TheBigPicture Says:

@Procrustes, A candidate doesn’t get to choose who “follows” them.
However when Hillary Clinton had a choice to choose who she follows, she chose Robert Byrd.

“People often ask the rhetorical question what would you have done to stop Hitler.”
Keep pedaling that fear…Classic Left move. “Modern day Hitler”
??? Please explain, I got to hear this!!!

    • Will Says:

@ Diogenes –> Impartiality ? You are thinking of JUDGES. Mayors are responsible for the well being of their citizens. I would rather that he directed the Trump circus to take its bus elsewhere to protect us from the mob he attracts and incites — but then there is that pesky first amendment so rejoice in that the city supports the constitution. Unlike the scheduled speaker.

      • anon Says:

Yah!! Like those annoying BLM protesters that like to burn down towns. Or the occupy wall street folks to like to break windows. You’re talking about those “mobs” right?

You know, the ones who steal diapers from CVS, because someone they didn’t even know got killed in an “unjust” matter, despite facts pointing the opposite. Those anygry mobs?

Last time I checked, Trump supporters aren’t tearing down towns or burning buildings, stealing things or making up false narratives. You got to get your facts checked. Left wing protesters are the destructive and hateful ones.

It’s a sad thing to know you can’t recognize hatred in your own group.
It’s like a terrorist organization in denial of being terrorists.

The scheduled speaker is going by the constitution. Being republican is to uphold the constitution. Not studying in the ways of backdooring it.

“Protect us from the mob” – You’re a straight up wuss, dude. Grow a pair.
