March 28, 2016

Everett, Police Blotter

Everett Police begin their investigation after a baby was found in a trash compactor Friday night.

Everett Police are still asking for the public’s help in locating the mother of a newborn infant found in a garbage crusher behind the Mirabella Apartments Friday night. Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell tells MyEverettNews.com they still want people to call their tip line at 425-257-8450 with any information on who put the baby in the dumpster. It may be someone from the apartment or someone from out of the area who decided to use that garbage crusher. The newborn is expected to survive and is being cared for at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett.

Doesn’t anyone know you can drop off a newborn at any fire department station, police station or hospital…NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!?! What kind of person puts a child in a garbage crusher?? What has our society come to? It makes me sad and sick.

    • Amy Says:

Unfortunately, no, not everyone knows. Whether or not the mother knew in this case remains to be seen. It’s possible the mother is a a horrible person, but more likely it’s either someone who is mentally unstable and truly needs help, or someone desperate. A young girl who was in denial and hid her pregnancy, for instance, and terrified. It is a tragic situation, and I’m not excusing the person who did this, whatever the circumstances, but it may be less a criminal act and more a tragedy on all sides.

Hope they find the mother, she will be so relieved to know her babby is ok

    • Lynda Moore Says:

Do you think a person who puts a newborn in a garbage crusher will be “relieved”?? Someone who does something so heinous has no conscience.

    • CT Says:

Surely you’re joking. This person has no conscience if they put their baby in a trash compactor. You think she cares? How foolish.
