Everett Police detectives are investigating a serious injury collision after a stolen vehicle crashes into another vehicle.
Just after 11:20 p.m. on May 13, 2013, the Bothell Police Department located and attempted to stop a stolen pickup. The pickup would not stop and entered a business parking lot in the 1500 block of 164th St SE where it collided with a vehicle before backing into a police car. With Bothell Police pursing it, the pickup fled northbound on I-5, exited at SE Everett Mall Way, continued northbound on Evergreen Way and Rucker Ave until it collided with a car in the intersection of Rucker Ave and Pacific Ave. The pickup flipped upside down and slid onto the sidewalk. The collision pushed the car northbound on Rucker Ave and onto its side. The car struck and ruptured a natural gas line before stopping. The female driver was trapped inside and extracted by fire and law enforcement officers who physically moved the vehicle.
The driver of the pickup, a 33 year-old Seattle man, was arrested at the scene and sustained what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to Providence Medical Center – Colby Campus for a medical evaluation. It is anticipated the driver will be booked for multiple felonies upon his release from the hospital.
The driver of the car, a 40 year-old Mukilteo woman, sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical attention.
Both vehicles were impounded as evidence. Puget Sound Energy responded fix the damaged natural gas lines.
