Underground Power Vault Explodes at Everett Mobile Home Park

It was less than a quiet Sunday afternoon at the Mobile Country Club off 84th street in south Everett. At around 4:00pm, Everett Fire received a call of an explosion under one of the homes. Arriving Fire crews found smoke coming from under the skirting of one home. Crews were quickly able to contain the fire and then began a search for other problems. Everett Firefighters found an underground power vault had exploded and caught fire and somehow the fire had spread below ground to a mobile home 3 spaces away from the vault. Crews from Snohomish PUD were called and at the time of this writing were still trying to determine what caused the problem in the underground vault. No word on a damage estimate but there were no injuries. Here are some photos from the scene…
