Got this in from the VOA this afternoon…
We need warehouse help Monday through Thursday, beginning at 8:00. We could use help right through the day until 4:00. So if someone wanted to work an afternoon block of time, we would take them, gladly. A warehouse person would need to be able to do some lifting, 25+ pounds. It’s a definite plus, if they can use a forklift. We could use about 10 volunteers, if we can find them
For the food bank, we need people for all shifts, Monday through Thursday. A shift is 8:00 until 11:45; and then from 12:00 until 3:15. There is some minor lifting on occasion but mostly the job involves some shelf stocking followed by some customer service. You do have to interact with all ages, a lot of different ethnic groups, and we appreciate volunteers who can speak Spanish, or Korean, or Russian as well as English. Assuming volunteers want to work a single shift, we could use 40 or more people.
We also need a few folks with computer skills to do the intake at the food bank. If they are comfortable in front of a computer, we can usually train a volunteer in two three-hour sessions. We can use help on Monday mornings and Monday afternoons; on Tuesday mornings; and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons (12:00 until 3:00). We could use 6 volunteers.
