The off leash parks in Everett are open again.

Back in November, the City of Everett closed its three off leash dog parks out of concern over an outbreak of the Canine Parvovirus in King County. Yesterday the city re-opened the dog parks. Here’s the official word from Steffani Lillie at the City of Everett…

The City of Everett Parks and Recreation Department temporarily closed its three off-leash dog areas as a precaution to the recent outbreak of the Canine Parvovirus in King County.

According to the Everett animal shelter and area veterinarians, there have been no new reports of the Canine Parvovirus in the past several weeks, therefore, the City of Everett will re-open the parks immediately.

The off-leash areas that have been re-opened are:

· Howarth Park, north beach area,1127 Olympic Blvd.

· Loganberry Lane Park, wooded path at the end of 18th Avenue West

· Lowell Park, fenced area north of the tennis courts, 46th Street and S. 3rd Ave.

For more information on the virus or your pets risk, contact your local veterinarian.
