Closing of NB529 Causing Massive Afternoon Commute Headaches in Everett

With the complete closure 529 due to a DUI crash on Saturday, Everett is experiencing major traffic backups both on I-5 and city streets. Everett Transit is also experiencing delays. As of 3:45 pm there was as 6 mile back up northbound on I-5 in Everett. Everett Avenue is backing up to the west as drivers wait to get on Northbound I-5 and the 41st street ramps to northbound I-5 are also backing up. Traffic eastbound on the Boeing Freeway is also backed up trying to get to Northbound I-5. Motorists may want to take the Hewitt Avenue Trestle and go across Sunnyside but it’s not easy to get to the trestle right now. If you’re coming from the eastside you may want to jump on Highway 9 and get to Marysville that way. Mostly you’re out of luck and will need to pack along your patience.
