I had a chance to talk with Mike Thorne at Snohomish PUD a little while ago. He told me that while early this afternoon they had 3500 people without power across Snohomish County, that number has doubled to 7000 as of 4:30. Thorne says right now they have 36 different crews working on restoring power while another 12 crews are just taking care of tree trimming. The crews are a mix of PUD employees and contractors. Thorne says the number of crews will vary overnight but the will have people on 24 hours a day until all power in Snohomish County has been restored. If you need to report an outage, you can call the PUD at 425-783-1001. One note, the PUD will never give an estimated time of when power will be back on.
