Everett City Council is moving money tonight at 6:30pm

Tonight the Everett City Council will make several big financial decisions. The Council is expected to approve a request to reappropriate more than 13 million dollars to cover everything from bulletproof vests to sewage backup damages, a climate action plan to a two million dollar shortfall in B&O tax collections. In addition, Everett TV will explain how a two hundred thousand dollar request for new equipment ballooned to nearly half a million dollars. There are also bids to award, such as 285 thousand dollars for asphalt and 500 hundred dollars for an interactive online map. Here’s a look at the 2011 budget as it was proposed, here’s a timeline on how the budget is put together and here is a reader’s guide from 2008 that gives a great primer on how Everett develops its budget.
