The City of Everett Thursday launched its new website, www.everettwa.gov, as well as a new website for Everett Transit, www.everetttransit.org.
“The goal of our website redesign was to focus on our customers’ needs,” said Meghan Pembroke, communications director. “The new site is dynamic, optimized for mobile devices and user-friendly.”
The new City website was developed by CivicPlus, a local-government website developer that has created sites for municipalities around the country, including Snohomish County and other cities in western Washington. The City began the project in September 2014.
The new site features a revamped navigation structure, news and calendar features, social media integration, and a responsive design for easy viewing on smartphones and tablets. The site allows public users to sign up for notifications about content that interests them, and also offers opportunities for public dialogue on City projects and initiatives.
“We will continue to roll out some of the new features in the coming months,” said Pembroke. “The new site gives us the opportunity to provide more transparency about City business and also engage our community about important topics and projects.” Some tools may have limited functionality following the initial rollout, as the City completes the full launch of the site.
Also launching Thursday is the new Everett Transit site, www.everetttransit.org. The new transit site offers the enhanced features and mobile-friendly benefits of the City site, as well as new rider tools, trip-planning resources and the convenience of signing up for rider alerts.
“We are excited to have a website that is easier to use and provides more information for current transit customers and Everett visitors,” said Tom Hingson, Everett Transit director.
With the new site now live, the old City site is no longer be accessible to the public.
