Quick Work by Police gets Downtown Everett Bank Robber Nabbed in Cab

Sharp eyewitnesses and smart police work combine to nab Everett bank robbery suspect today.

Everett Police officers with the assistance of Snohomish County Sheriff deputies arrested a 33-year-old man suspected of robbing the US Bank in the 1700 block of Hewitt Avenue.

At about 1:40 p.m. this afternoon officers responded to the bank for a “robbery just occurred” call. They were provided a description of the suspect who had left the bank on foot. Officers then received information from a witness that the suspect had gotten into a Yellow Cab and left the area. An on-duty sergeant called Yellow Cab, obtained the cab number and began tracking its movements.

Deputies caught up to the cab in Marysville near 116th Street and I-5 and stopped the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transported back to the Everett Police Department for questioning. The suspect is believed to be from outside the Everett area however his exact residency has not yet been determined.

No one was injured during the robbery.
