Suspected Home Intruder Shot By Everett Resident Saturday Night

Editor’s Update Monday 1/18/21 2:00 PM, here is the just issued Everett Police press release:
Just after 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night, officers responded to the 3600 block of Tulalip Ave when a homeowner called 911 to report someone breaking into his home. Prior to their arrival, officers were advised the homeowner fired a single shot at the burglar. On arrival, officers contacted and detained one injured male who was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for a gunshot wound. The homeowner told officers the injured man kicked in the door to enter the home and he fired at the man.
The injured burglar, a 32 year-old man, is expected to survive. The homeowner, a 66 year-old man, and his spouse were uninjured and the firearm was impounded.
Officers processed the scene and detectives will continue investigating the incident.

Everett police provide first aid to the man found in the roadway with a gunshot wound.

The man found in the roadway was transported by medics to Providence Regional Medical Center.

About 10 PM Saturday night a resident called 9-1-1 to report someone was trying to break into a home on Tulalip Avenue near Jackson Elementary School.

The caller then advised they had fired a shot. Everett Police patrol units arrived and began checking the area.

A male was located in the roadway near the home.

Officers determined the man had been shot and called for medics and started first aid.

Other officers found what they reported to be forced entry to the home which was occupied by a man and woman. The two were safe.

The male located in the roadway was taken by medic unit to Providence Regional Medical Center.

Officers spoke with the man who fired the shot and were working to determine exactly what happened.

No word yet on the condition of the man with the gunshot wound.
