A Snohomish man will make a first court appearance today on multiple felony charges after allegedly committing several crimes last night on Marine View Drive.

According to probable cause papers Everett Police were first called to the former Jeld-Wen plant on a report that a man tried to use a small “Bobcat” loader to smash into a security guard’s vehicle and then chased the guard around the property trying to run him over. The guard got to a safe place and called 911.

The man then abandoned the Bobcat and got into a semi-truck and smashed through a locked gate onto West Marine View Drive. A worker at the facility who was operating a full-size front end loader followed after the semi and got in front of it.

As the suspect in the semi kept trying to drive south on Marine View Drive the guy on the loader swung it around and using the bucket pushed the semi off to the side of West Marine view Drive and pinned the suspect in the cab lifting the semi with the front end loader.

Arriving Everett Police officers had to struggle with the suspect who reportedly told them he was Bono from the group U2. A search after the suspect’s arrest revealed suspected methamphetamine in his pocket that the suspect reportedly admitted to using earlier in the evening.

Employees at the facility found a tool room had been burglarized and boot prints at the scene matched the tread of the boots the suspect was wearing.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first degree assault, felony malicious mischief, theft of a motor vehicle, burglary and DUI. None of the the employees at the plant were injured. Here are a few MyEverettNews.com photos of the scene. Click photo to enlarge.
