Before starting, volunteers share inspiring quotes from Dr. King

For a lot of teens in Everett, WA it’s a day on – not a day off as United Way of Snohomish County’s annual MLK Day of Service is underway. In Everett, teens are working at Full Life Care helping to make pet treats and blankets for donation to a local animal shelter. At KSER Radio teen volunteers are sorting and cleaning the entire station. In downtown Everett teens are at Hopeworks getting that site ready to start construction in its new facility. MyEverettNews.com stopped by Thornton A. Sullivan Park at Silver Lake in south Everett where they were cleaning the park, removing invasive species and spreading mulch after a morning briefing that included reading inspirational quotes from Dr. King before starting to work. We’ll provide a follow up later on the various projects in Everett as kids here and throughout Snohomish County honor the Holiday with a day on. Here are a few pictures from Silver Lake Park.
