Just one day after a motorist struck Trooper Gadd’s Parked SUV, a vehicle struck Daryl Bertsch, 58 of Lynnwood. Bertsch was putting gas in a vehicle near milepost 197 on Southbound I-5.
The incident took place at 5:09pm just 6 miles south of where the WSP Trooper was killed.
A 1999 Dodge Ram traveling south veered onto the shoulder hitting both the parked car and the Daryl Bertsch who filling it with gas on the traffic side of a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
A woman was in the parked vehicle but wasn’t injured. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 52 year old man from Everett, wasn’t injured either.
