Friday night (Dec 8th) the Everett Silvertips will hold their annual “Teddy Bear Toss” during their game against the Vancouver Giants at Angel of the Winds Arena in downtown Everett, Washington.

The Teddy Bear Toss works like this. Fans are encouraged to bring new teddy bears to the game. Other new stuffed animals are okay but teddy bears seem to have an aerodynamic advantage.

Fans may also have an opportunity to purchase a bear to toss during the event from the team store while supplies last.

It’s preferable the stuffed teddy bears are in a plastic bag. There will be bagging stations around the arena.

The trigger for the teddy bear toss is the first goal scored by the home-team Everett Silvertips. When the ‘Tips score their first goal, the bears go onto the ice.

For some reason if the ‘Tips haven’t scored a goal by the end of three full 20-minute periods of play then the Teddy Bear Toss will take place after the final buzzer.

The best part (after the amazing visuals) is the bears are donated to charities in Everett and throughout Snohomish County.

Doors open at 6:00 PM and the puck drops at 7:05 PM.
