Meet The Owner – Marilyn Boutique

For ten years Marilyn Guadalupe worked as an event planner. She helped people plan their special moments from the venue to the menu, the food, drink, music, activities and the clothes. Marilyn has always had a great eye for picking out dresses and outfits. She’s also always wanted to have a store.

“I always had a goal to open up a boutique,” she said when we met at her store on Evergreen Way this week. Last year she got her chance.

What is now Marilyn Boutique has been around for about six years under a couple of different names and in a couple of different locations including inside the Everett Mall and on the east side of Silver Lake.

Last year Marilyn got the chance to buy the business and opened it up in the former Radio Shack location in the 7400 block of Evergreen Way across from Everett Chevrolet.

“We’re kind of starting from scratch at this location,” she explained. Customers who shopped at the other two locations may not be aware Marilyn has the boutique and is open to serve them.

I asked her what makes her store stand out from others. “Selection,” she said quickly. “We have a wide variety of styles, brands and sizes ranging from xx small to triple extra large and I am committed to finding the perfect dress for my customers.”

While quinceañera dresses are popular she has dresses for any special occasion including weddings, proms, formals, homecomings and as the season is fast approaching, holiday parties.

In addition to dresses, Marilyn Boutique also offers tuxedo rentals.

The store is located at 7424 Evergreen Way in Everett, Washington. They’re open Tuesday thru Sunday from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Their phone number is (425) 737-4360.

I asked Marilyn if there were plans for more boutiques in the works and she just smiled and said, “I’m going to work hard and focus on this store for now, we’ll see about the future.”
