Everett Mayor Says County Will Not Purchase Hope Church As Shelter

Still trying to get more details, but at the City Council meeting in Everett, Washington Wednesday night Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin announced Snohomish County has decided not to move forward with the purchase of the Hope Church property at 4502 Rucker Avenue as an emergency shelter.

Mayor Franklin said the County is working to extend the lease on the current shelter in the 2600 block of Rockefeller for six months. She also said the County is going to be giving Everett four million dollars toward a shelter site to be determined. We are working on getting more information from the City of Everett and Snohomish County. We will update as more details come forward.
