Wintertide is your destination for Holiday Happiness in Everett, Washington!

Every Wednesday we’ll update you on the Wintertide happenings coming up as the City of Everett’s Wintertide Season continues into the New Year.

Wintertide isn’t just one event and its not limited to downtown Everett but encompasses all the ways people in Everett, Washington can enjoy holiday cheer including celebrations with friends and neighbors, special shopping opportunities, music, events, merriment, experiences and more lasting all the way into the New Year.

Thursday December 15th: EVERETT FIRE FOOD AND TOY DRIVE SANTA CRUISE
Don’t forget! Santa will be at Forest Park and by Burlington Coat Factory at Everett Mall this Thursday, December 15. Santa will arrive on a fire engine to see all the good boys and girls, while firefighters collect non-perishable food and toy donations.
Last year, our amazing residents donated nearly 2,000 pounds of food to help members of our community. We would love to surpass that number this year!

This is the last of Santa’s Neighborhood Cruises in December as he heads back to the North Pole to prepare for his big night.
 
Thursday December 15th: THE SCHACK’s WINTERTIDE TEEN NIGHT
5:00 PM – 7:00PM Shack Art Center 2921 Hoyt Avenue Everett, WA 98201
Teens will enjoy creating their own unique “Wintertide” themed art projects in the Schack Art Studios. Participants will explore different art techniques, materials, and projects with local teaching artists Amie Zimmerman: Funko 3D Display Artist, and Angie Louthan: Artist, Art Instructor, and Transformational Life Coach. All supplies provided. This event is co-sponsored by the City of Everett’s cultural arts department. Register here.

Friday December 16th: NAVY BAND NORTHWEST HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS CONCERT
6:00 PM: Everett Performing Arts Center 2710 Wetmore Avenue Everett, WA 98201
Navy Band NW returns to the Everett Performing Arts Center for a free holiday performance on December 16th, 2022. No tickets are necessary as this free performance is sponsored by the City of Everett’s cultural arts department. Happy holidays!
 
Friday December 16th: MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER CHRISTMAS
7:30 PM: Angel of the Winds Arena 2000 Hewitt Avenue Everett, WA 98201
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis has been one of America’s favorite holiday traditions for over 35 years. You know it when you hear it and it conjures up all the holiday feels of growing up in the 90s. This season’s program celebrates the group’s recent anniversary of 35 years since the first Christmas album and includes dazzling multimedia effects performed in an intimate setting. Experience the magic as the spirit of the season comes alive with the signature sound of Mannheim Steamroller. Get tickets here.

Saturday December 17th: LOOK, LEARN, & CREATE: WINTERTIDE SOLSTICE LUMINARIES
The Schack and Everett Public library team up for tours and art projects for the community to enjoy. Get inspired with a tour at the Schack Art Center at 2921 Hoyt Avenue, and then head on over to the Main Library two blocks north at 2702 Hoyt and use that inspiration to make a Solstice Luminary to light up the dark winter months!

The Schack’s offering docent-led tours of their 2022 Holiday Exhibition featuring the Northwest Pastel Society at 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, or 12:30.

To make a luminary, sign up for a spot here (registration required). Two sessions will be offered but space is limited. This program is geared toward adults, but youth 12 and over may join in with a participating adult.
 
Sunday December 18th: EVERETT MALL GINGERBREAD HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST
11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Everett Mall 1402 SE Everett Mall Way Everett, WA 98204
Head to Everett Mall and show off your creative side by decorating a gingerbread house to win one of several prizes! The pre-order kit will include made-from-scratch gingerbread house pieces, icing, an assortment of candies, and a take-home box for your creation.
