Woman Arrested For Vehicular Homicide After Crash In Everett

Editor’s Update Monday 5/23/2022: This afternoon a District Court judge found probable cause to hold the woman on $50,000.00 bond for suspicion of Vehicular Homicide. In court papers Everett Police wrote the woman told them she had smoked meth at some point prior to the crash. They say the car she was driving turned in front of a northbound motorcycle in the 11100 block of Evergreen Way.

The crash happened near the north entrance to BECU on Evergreen Way.

A woman in her 40s was booked into the Snohomish County Jail Friday night for suspicion of Vehicular Homicide – Alcohol or Drugs, following a crash that shut down the northbound lanes of Evergreen Way near the BECU Credit Union in the 11100 block.

Everett Police Spokesperson Natalie Givens tells MyEverettNews.com they received a report of a crash between a car and a motorcycle at about 8:21 PM Friday night. The motorcyclist, (a man in his 30s) was transported by Medic Unit to Providence Regional Medical Center and passed away from his injuries.

The vehicle driver was arrested and detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit of Everett Police were called out to investigate. The northbound lanes of Evergreen were diverted at 112th street for about five hours while officers worked the scene.

The woman is expected to make an initial court appearance on Monday. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will release the cause and manner of death as well as the victim’s identity.
