Jeff Swickard bought Brien Ford back in November of 2016. He then changed the name to Epic Ford. Swickard Auto Group owns more than twenty dealerships in five states. Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California and Texas.
Last week employees were advised that Swickard had intended to sell the dealership to another local owner and for it to continue but that plan was nixed, and Ford Motor Company put together a group of three dealers to make the purchase. Employees in Everett are being offered jobs at other Swickard locations.
The service department is no longer accepting appointments and now is referring people to other area Ford dealerships.
MyEverettNews.com has been told the parts will go to one dealership, the shop equipment to another and the third will get the vehicle inventory with the three dealerships splitting proceeds from the eventual sale of the property. That process is expected to begin May 16th.
The loss of Epic Ford will be a bit of a blow to Everett’s economy as sales tax (especially on high ticket items like cars and trucks) is a big contributor to the City of Everett’s finances.
