Everett Looking For Input On Removal Of Sick Tree On Colby

The City of Everett Parks Department is asking for public input on the removal of a tree that has been identified along Colby their arborist feels is in bad shape. Here’s how to express your opinion.

Everett Parks is seeking community input on a proposal to remove a tree on Colby Avenue. Colby Avenue tree #35, located on the 1400 block of Colby Avenue, has been evaluated by an Everett Parks arborist and was determined to be in poor health and condition and unlikely to recover. The tree is currently marked with a white ribbon and spray painted.

Public comment or feedback can be sent to Kimberly Moore at kmoore@everettwa.gov, or community members can provide comment at the virtual Parks Board meeting on April 5 at 4:45 p.m. Public comments submitted via email will be shared with the Parks Board and Tree Committee.

The City of Everett, Washington has been working on what is known as the Colby trees project for the past couple of years. This after neighbors expressed concern about root damage and other issues caused by the trees in the median. There is a great Q+A here if you’d like to learn more.
