In what has become an annual event the Everett Fire Department is teaming up with two local Domino’s Pizza locations to offer free pizza if they find a working smoke detector during a pizza delivery. Here are the details.

An Everett Firefighter installs a smoke alarm.

Everett Fire Department is partnering with two Everett Domino’s stores, located at 7601 Evergreen Way and 11632 Highway 99, and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to promote Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 3-9). On the days and times below at the mentioned stores, anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives aboard a fire engine. If the smoke alarms in the home are working, the pizza is free. If the smoke alarms are not working, the firefighters will install fully functioning alarms or replace the batteries.
• Tuesday, Oct. 5 from 4-8 p.m.: Domino’s located at 7601 Evergreen Way
• Thursday, Oct. 7 from 4-8 p.m.: Domino’s located at 11632 Highway 99
This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign theme is “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” (https://bit.ly/3mfASFC)
“In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds,” said Kurtis Brown, fire marshal at Everett Fire Department. “This year’s campaign works to educate everyone about the different sounds the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make. Knowing what to do when an alarm sounds will keep you and your family safe. In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out. These steps can make all of the difference and we hope to raise awareness about them through our partnership with Domino’s.”
“Fire safety is extremely important,” said Pat Farmer, franchise owner of Domino’s in Everett. “We’re excited to partner with the NFPA and Everett Fire Department for a program that not only promotes the safety of our friends and neighbors, but rewards those who make fire safety a priority.”
Customers can call Domino’s located at 7601 Evergreen Way at 425-347-2202 or reach Domino’s at 11632 Highway 99 at 425-953-5330 to place their order and be eligible for the fire engine delivery.
