Everett Police Offer To Put Traceable ID Number On Your Catalytic Converter

August 11, 2021

Everett, Police Blotter

The Everett Police Department is launching a new program to discourage Catalytic converter theft. Here’s a description of how the program works.

Once your ID number is recorded you receive this sticker for your car.

We know that Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise, so we have started Project CATCON ID! This project allows you to get your catalytic converter engraved with your vehicle VIN and highlight the number.

Once your converter is tagged it will allow us to track where it came from and help us solve crimes.

Our events are free with the first event set for August 21st.

All time slots for this event have been filled but more events will be happening in the near future.

Once your converter is engraved you will also receive a Project CATCON ID window sticker showing your converter is marked and protected to help ward off potential thieves.
