After being freed she was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center by medic unit with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved, a 22-year-old man from Bothell was also trapped inside his car. He was transported by ambulance with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Trooper Rocky Oliphant with the Washington State Patrol tells MyEverettNews.com the woman may have had a medical issue and was not believed to be impaired. She struck a sign at the 41st ramp before heading onto the freeway the wrong way. Troopers continue to investigate.

The freeway re-opened to all lanes about 11:15 AM.
