Editor’s Update Saturday 10:00 AM. This morning Everett Police issued the following update:
Just after 7 p.m. on October 16th, officers responded to the 4700 block of Colby Ave on the report of a hit and run collision where a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Arriving officers found an injured man with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries. The male was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and Traffic Safety detectives responded to investigate.
During the investigation a tip was received about the involved vehicle. Officers responded to the 1600 block of Virginia Ave where they located a damaged 2011 Chevy Cruze. A 31 year-old female was contacted and she admitted to hitting a pedestrian and driving off. The female was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on probable cause for hit and run and driving with a suspended license.
The condition of the 39 year-old pedestrian improved overnight and he is expected to survive.
Initial report 7:50 PM: Detectives with the Everett Police Traffic Safety Unit have closed Colby Avenue from the 4700 to 4900 block after a person in the roadway was struck by a car that left the scene. Everett Police say the person who was hit has life-threatening injuries and was taken by a medic unit to Providence Regional Medical Center. The crash happened shortly after 7:00 PM. No further details are available at this time. We’ll update when we have more information.
