Camp On Rucker Dismantled

July 9, 2020

Everett

By 7:30 PM Thursday most of the campers had moved off the property in the 3200 block of Rucker.

Earlier this week we told you about a camp that sprung up in the 3200 block of Rucker Avenue that rapidly filled with dozens of tents housing people experiencing homelessness.

Tonight the camp is nearly empty as the City of Everett moved in and told the property owner that they would begin a civil action if people continued to stay.

Throughout the day people living there began taking down tents and packing their belongings as protesters waved signs and advocates tried to convince the City of Everett to allow the camp to remain.

That was a no-go and by 7:30 PM almost all of the people who had been there since Sunday had moved off the property.
