Highway 99 Shut Down After Everett Car Theft Suspect Causes Multi-Car Crash

One woman was seriously hurt and others shaken up as a suspect in a car theft from an Everett motel crashed at Lincoln and Highway 99 Saturday morning.

Everett Police were called to a motel on Evergreen Way shortly before 10 AM on a report of a car theft. The suspect and vehicle were later seen on 128th near 4th Avenue West by Everett Police. A short time later Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputies gave chase to the stolen car near Lincoln Way and Highway 99.

The suspect crashed into multiple cars at the intersection and fled on foot where he was found hiding by a business south of the intersection. He was taken into custody by deputies. Five other vehicles were involved in the crash which shut down Highway 99 for more than an hour. The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail and is expected in court on Monday.
