Events in Everett

Last year there was a march from the Peach Arch at the Canadian Border to Olympia in order to bring awareness to the plight of indigenous women in Washington State. Starting today (May 5th) there is a march in from Olympia back to Blaine to continue that awareness effort. The march is scheduled to stop in Everett on Thursday May 9 and Tulalip on Friday May 10th. Here is more about the march and you can track their progress on their Facebook page. Here is a bit more information for those interested.

MMIWW brings awareness of our Missing & Murdered Indigenous People. We Educate, Advocate, Liaison, Provide Resources, & Support Services for our Community.

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Washington MMIWW walked from the Peace Arch on the boarder of Canada and Washington State where we greeted our First Nations Sisters. We then continued to walk to Olympia and stopped at many communities with high-risk areas on the way. We had the Blessing of many Tribes. We walked in prayer and invited our Ancestors to join us.

Now, we will continue our Ceremony again this year and bring our Spirit helpers home.

We will begin in Olympia at the State Capitol during our MMIWW “Doll Rally”, we will finish at the Canadian /Washington State Boarder at the Peace Arch during our “Matriarchal Gathering”.
