Deer Park in west Everett off Merrill Creek Parkway will close for several weeks so the City of Everett Parks Department can upgrade the playground equipment.

Work is expected to last several months, with the playground reopening by early summer.

Playground equipment at Everett parks is typically upgraded on a 15-year cycle. A design schematic reveals climbing opportunities, a new slide and swing, and interactive spaces to encourage safe, creative play for a wide range of ages and abilities. The design features natural park-like colors that complement the surrounding landscape. Playground surfaces will also be changed from wood chips to ADA compliant rubber tiles.

The construction area will be fenced off for the safety of park visitors. Visit everettwa.gov/parks for more information.
