Separate House Fires Kept Everett Firefighters Busy Monday Afternoon

Another day with multiple structure fires for Everett Fire crews.

Monday afternoon at about ten minutes before three o’clock firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming from a home near 33rd Avenue West and 52nd Place SW near the Everett-Mukilteo city limits.

Arriving crews found heaving smoke coming from the attic. They were able to make an offensive attack and keep the fire from spreading beyond the upper level of the home. There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Around 5:15 PM neighbors reported smoke coming from a house in the 5500 block of Beverly Lane. Firefighters found smoke coming from the back of the house and quickly located and extinguished a fire in the basement of the home. No one appeared to be in the house and there were no injuries. Investigators were also looking into the cause of that fire.

Editor’s Update: At 8:30 PM the fire flared back up in the house in the 5500 block of Beverly Lane and crews had to return to the scene. Fire had spread to the upper area of the house.
